The honest answer: because we have to. A lot of what we ship depends on open source being well maintained and stable for years to come, so we are stepping up our contributions beyond the personal enthusiasm of individual engineers.

Process
We fund where we can make a difference. We have a special place in our heart for small projects, but we want to support all types of projects.
We pick projects CHECK24 depends on or provide big community value.
We talk to the maintainer and shape one concrete scope: a feature, a bugfix, a release, or a stretch of maintenance.
We fund the agreed grant and track public evidence like issues, pull requests, and releases so the spend is verifiable.
We publish the outcome here as a record of what matters to us.
